sometimes i feel like i say the same things over and over again when i try to explain how i feel for you. usually “i love you” is the only thing i can come up with. sometimes it’s “i love you so much.” that just doesn’t cut it though. it doesn’t hit the mark. it falls short. so i’ve decided to look in the thesaurus for words that mean “love.” these are my favorites:
- enamored of
- smitten by
- captivated by
- devoted to
- entranced by
i make new favorite memories with you every time we are together, but attempting to whisper the depths of my love for you as you drifted off to sleep is up there. along with the first night we stayed together that we talked and held each other til 4 in the morning. and our first kiss. and sneaking in and out of your apartment. and the 23rd. and the night and morning of 500 days of summer. and that time i watched you study. and that time the sunlight hit your eyes and my heart jumped into my throat. and that time you smiled at me and it knocked the wind out of me. and that time you wore that black dress and it took my breath away. and that time we drove for hours, not saying anything, just holding hands. and that time we walked by the lake in the dark. and every time i hear “i love you” pass your lips. and every time i kiss you.
i could go on like that forever. just like i think we will. no one else could make me as happy as you, i’m sure of that. you’re perfect for me.
